When Laura suffered from hair loss as a result of her treatment for cancer, she was very fortunate to receive a wig from The Little Princess Trust, which she sometimes wore for special occasions.
But for day to day activities, her grandma Carol made lots of different hats for Laura, such as beanie hats and baseball caps. These were lovingly adapted, sometimes with a plait or by having other pieces of hair sewn into them.
Laura loved wearing these hats and this is what inspired us to offer similar head coverings to other cancer patients.

We initially started to offer this free service in the Sheffield and Doncaster areas, but we are now proud to say that we are reaching as far as London.
When we first set up Big C Little Warrior in Laura’s name, it was with the aim of providing beauty treatments to cancer patients in hospital, however this was prevented due to Covid-19 and the restricted access into hospitals.
In the future we would like to extend our services to also offer beauty treatments to patients in hospital undergoing treatment for cancer, as well as providing head coverings.

We recently received an application from Rebecca for a head covering. We were so happy to receive this beautiful picture from Rebecca, who looks absolutely amazing in her selection, which was an auburn gym wig.
It really means the world to us to be able to reach out and help people in this way and to see the results is so lovely.
